The Westire Team 

With a Physics and Electronics degree, Sean founded Selc Ireland Limited in 1982 and Westire Technology Limited in 2013 and he has seen the business grow and develop, in particular through the launch of our silicon ambient light sensor controlled photocell – which is widely applied across street lighting solutions around the world today. Sean oversees the management of Westire and with a wealth of industry knowledge and technical expertise is integral in leading our technological innovation.

Prior to launching Westire, Sean held a number of senior roles including Chairman and Managing Director of SELC Ireland Limited, Board Member and Security Committee Chairman at Ireland West International Airport Knock, Board Member at Erris Tourism, Member of The Irish Government’s Consultative Committee on Jobs in the Green Economy, Member of The Irish Government’s Energy Panel and Member of the BTF74 EU Standards Committee.

A qualified helicopter and gyrocopter pilot, Sean enjoys spending his spare time researching new aviation technologies, working in his home laboratory, writing technical papers, reading scientific journals, gardening and walking.

Shane began working at Westire in 2021. His main responsibilities are driving the business’s growth strategy as well as manging its distribution network and key accounts. He enjoys being in a technologically innovative environment, working with local authorities and seeing the considerations that go into their decisions to improve the well-being of citizens.

With a degree in Business and Politics and a Post-Graduate Higher Diploma in Finance, Shane worked in Finance, Sales and Marketing roles prior to joining the family business. In his spare time, Shane enjoys playing sports, trying new activities and going to the cinema and theatre.

A key member of the team for the past 10 years, Jerome heads up the operational side of the business. With an extensive background in the manufacturing of electronics for the lighting industry, Jerome spearheads the deployment of technological developments through all aspects of our operation. He enjoys working with customers on projects and seeing the tangible and measurable results our technology provides in terms of energy savings, carbon reduction and sustainability.

He holds qualifications in Mechanical Engineering, Production and Organisational Management, Quality Systems implementation and management, HR and Health and Safety Management. In his spare time, Jerome enjoys keeping abreast of technology, reading, listening to and playing music, music production and sound engineering.
