ANSI/NEMA Photocell Shorting Cap

Our photocell shorting cap is a durable and efficient method of connecting the Live to the Load once inserted into the ANSI/NEMA socket/receptacle fitted on the canopy of the streetlight luminaire. The shorting cap is ideal when streetlights are installed in a group configuration and controlled from an electrical feeder pillar.

The housing is constructed of UV stabilised polycarbonate, meaning the shorting cap is better protected from cracking and fading caused by sunlight exposure. The enclosure sealing is IP65 rated for dust tight and protection from water spray and is ANSI C136.10 compliant. To ensure good dust and watertight sealing between the inserted shorting cap and the streetlight luminaire socket/receptacle the underside cap base is fitted with a non-shrink neoprene rubber sealing gasket.

Black shorting cap keeps the light on (480 VAC Max)
Blue shorting cap keeps the light on with a 320 joule MOV (320 VAC Max)
Red open cap keeps the lights off

Note: The Westire shorting cap can be fitted with a 840J MOV for areas subjected to unusual lightning occurrences.
