The Westire 8480 photocell is a prime example of our industry-leading approach to Fit & Forget® long-life photocells.

It is the most accurate and reliable dusk to dawn switching outdoor lighting control photocell in the world, utilising Westire’s Eye Response filtered silicon light sensor and microprocessor control.

This combination gives the Westire 8480 photocell the ability to generate major cost and energy and CO² savings, wherever it is employed – from street and road lighting to airport perimeter lighting.

A Long-Life Solution for Dusk to Dawn Lighting

Engineered and manufactured at our site in County Mayo, the 8480 photocell has a 35-year design life and is renowned for its high quality and reliability. Its upward facing daylight sensor, with a full view of the open sky, results in a higher switching accuracy.

The Westire 8480 Photocell has a Part-Night option available, which uses Westire’s Astroclock Algorithm to switch lights off for a pre-determined period during the night.

Polycarbonate housing is ultrasonically welded, UV stabilised and rated to IP67.
Upward facing units are designed to be self-cleaning and facing the open hemisphere of sky for more accurate switching.
100% product testing; 48-hour burn-in during electrical and final inspection.
Intertek ETL Listed and RoHS compliant.
Available with up to 840 Joule MOV protection.
Housing colours available include black, blue, brown, green, red and grey.
