Westire 8480 Hard Wired Photocell

We offer a hard-wired version of the Westire 8480 photocell – the world’s most reliable and accurate dusk to dawn switching Fit & Forget® outdoor lighting control photocell.

Utilising Westire’s Eye Response filtered silicon light sensor and microprocessor control, it can help to significantly reduce energy costs and save carbon emitted in a wide variety of environments, from campuses and port perimeter lighting to housing estates and road network lighting.

The Westire 8480 hard wired photocell is manufactured at our site in County Mayo, Ireland and has a 35-year design life. In applications that require dusk to dawn lighting, this photocell is renowned for its high quality and reliability. And its upward facing daylight sensor has a full view of the open sky: this gives it higher switching accuracy.

  • Westire patented Relay Assisted Triac (RAT) switching technology protects the relay from high in-rush current.
  • Polycarbonate housing is ultrasonically welded, UV stabilised and rated to IP67.
  • Upward facing units are designed to be self-cleaning and facing the open hemisphere of sky for more accurate ambient light sensing.
  • 100% product testing; 48-hour burn-in during electrical and final inspection.
  • Intertek ETL Listed and RoHS compliant.
  • Available with up to 840 Joule MOV protection.
  • Housing colours available include black, blue, brown, green, red and grey.
  • Easily fitted to Westire’s pole or wall mounting brackets and socket kits.
